Guided Aboriginal Tours at Kings Canyon Resort

Kings Canyon is the traditional country of Luritja people. For thousands of years they have lived on, cared for, managed and have been provided for, by this land, under their law. It is a place of living cultural landscapes and enduring cultural significance.

Guided Aboriginal Tours

Kurrparru Tours offer daily guided walks around the canyon rim and along Kings Creek. Both walks will provide you with an Aboriginal guide and the understanding of this breathtaking environment through the eyes of the traditional custodians. Learn about Aboriginal kinship, customs, bush foods, tools & weapons, medicine plants and the use of them by Aboriginal people. You will also hear stories about Kurrparru (butcher bird), early explorers and early tourism in this area.
