Field of Light
The global phenomenon Field of Light art installation by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro now showcases in the place where it was originally inspired by, Uluru, only a 3.5-hour drive from Kings Canyon Resort. Aptly named Tili Wiru Tjuta Nyakutjaku or "looking at lots of beautiful lights" in local Pitjantjatjara is the largest field of light installation to date and will feature until 31st December 2020.
During dusk, more than 50,000 stems crowned with frosted-glass spheres across the size of seven football fields light up in sync with the multicolour Australian spiritual landscape with the majestic rock as the backdrop. Under the moon and stars, viewers make their way around the pathways surrounded by the captivating lights and enjoy other activities on offer.
This event is a "must do" Northern Territory experience. While you are visiting Uluru and experiencing the Field of Light, make sure you add Kings Canyon to your Red Centre Itinerary.
