Q. What facilities are available in the campground?
A. Powered sies have 240 volt, 50Hz AC with water connection points. General amenities are toilets, showers and laundry facilities, RV dump point, swimming pool with grassed area (currently closed due to COVID-19), designated fire areas and Sunset Viewing platform. Unfortunately, the BBQ's and kids playground are out of action, to be upgraded in the near future.
Q. What are the resort facilities operating hours during the COVID-19 pandemic?
A. Most facilities are open 7 days a week but with limited operating hours.

- Outback Oasis General Store: 8am to 4pm
- Thirsty Dingo Bar: 11am to 9pm
- Desert Oaks Bistro: 10am to 2pm
- Outback BBQ: currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions
- Under a Desert Moon: currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions
- Carmichaels Restaurant: currently closed
- Segway Tours: currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions
- PHS Helicopter Tours: available beginning 19 March, 2021!>
- Bush Centre: closed for tour bookings
Q. Are there medical facilities available?
A. Yes, there is a medical centre. Open Monday to Friday with afterhours callout as required.
Q. What accommodations are available during the COVID-19 restrictions?
A. Limited lodge, standard, deluxe rooms and glamping tents. Prior bookings essential.
Q. Is there mobile phone coverage?
A. Yes, coverage is available for Telstra (4G) and Optus (3G).
Q. What time is check-in and check-out?
A. Check-in is after 3pm and check-out is at 10am.
Q. Can you check in after 7:00pm when reception closes?
A. Yes, but with prior arrangement.
Q. Is there Internet and how much does it cost?
A. There is roaming internet available for purchase on your device. Internet starts from $4.95 for 100mb
Q. What laundry facilities are available?
A. There are 7 laundries in total, 2 located at the Budget Lodge, 4 in the Campground and 1 located near Carmichael's. Due to COVID-19 there are 2 laundries currently in operation, 1 in the Campground and 1 at a Budget Lodge. The cost is $4 wash and $4 dry, and the machines accept $1 and $2 coins only.
Q. When is the wet season?
A. December to February
Q. Are linen and towels provided in Budget Lodge rooms?
A. Yes, linen and towels are provided in Budget Lodge rooms.
Q. Why do I need to give credit card details at the time of my reservation?
A. A valid credit card is required to guarantee your reservation, however no charges are processed at time of booking until checkout. A 1% surcharge applies for Visa & MasterCard payments and a 3% surcharge applies for American Express & Diners Club payments.
Q. Will there be accommodation for a family with 5 or 6 people in the future?
A. Families with 5-6 people are able to be accommodated in 2 rooms at present.
Q. Do the rooms have heating and cooling?
A. Yes, both heating and cooling are available in our Budget Rooms, Standard Rooms and Deluxe Spa Rooms.
Q. Are there tea and coffee facilities?
A. Yes, tea- and coffee- making facilities are available in all rooms.
Q. What kind of view do the Standard Rooms have?
A. The Standard Rooms have a view of the natural central Australian bushland with rocky outcrops.
Q. If a guest has an allergy or is vegetarian, are they able to go to "Under a Desert Moon"?
A. Due to COVID-19, Under a Desert Moon is closed until further notice. Once it re-opens and provided you give adequate notice of your dietary requirements, we are able to accommodate them. If we're unable to do so, we will inform you.
Q. Are dogs allowed in the campground?
A. Yes, dogs are allowed in the campground however they need to be leashed at all times. Dogs are not allowed in Lodge Rooms or Resort Rooms.
Q. How long does it take to get here from Alice Springs/Ayers Rock (Uluru)?
A. Approx 4-5 hrs from Alice Springs and 3-4 hrs from Ayers Rock.
Q. Are there cooking facilities in the room?
A. Due to fire regulations, there are no cooking facilities in the rooms.
Q. Is there an onsite mechanic?
A. There is no onsite mechanic located at Kings Canyon Resort.
Q. Is there a petrol station and grocery store at the resort?
A. Yes, the Outback Oasis General Store is both a fuel station and grocery store, providing diesel, unleaded, LPG, snacks and basic convenience items.
